About Us

Public Run Days

Trains run from June to October, 2nd Sundays (plus 1st & 4th Sundays in October). Check the schedule link above for the complete schedule. There is no ticket charge for rides; donations are accepted.

Work Days

Each month (usually last Saturday), come learn how to maintain a 1-inch scale railroad for model trains. The primary project on work days is typically track work. With 1800 feet of mainline, there is always track work to do! Tamping and aligning, tie replacement, and checking the more than 360 pairs of joint bars, each with 4 nuts and bolts that work loose, are just some of the regular maintenance projects the railroad requires to maintain optimal operating conditions. No expertise is necessary: we are more than happy to show you how!

Train Shows

Each winter, find us at the Lincoln Train Show (trains running) and Council Bluffs Train Show (display only). Catch up with us in the off-season, and talk trains. See Schedule for dates, times and locations

We'd love to have you come out to share the live steam hobby! Located on the grounds of the Seward County Historical Society Museum. Take exit 373 from I-80, head north on 80G, then turn left at the windmill onto the museum property. Note: while the post office address says Seward, the railroad is actually in Goehner, as indicated on the map here.
